A new educational project is now underway, involving the Ferrucci Comprehensive School, specifically the first-year classes of the lower secondary school, together with FASS, in collaboration with Casa Studio CVM VENIO Gallery.
This initiative was born within the local community and for the community, and we are particularly pleased to contribute to it. Designed for younger generations, the project offers students a space to express their creativity and reconnect with the roots of the place where they live, through a workshop held at the school.
At the heart of the project is the enhancement of local history, told through one of its most representative symbols: the broom.
The broom is a powerful example of how an object rooted in rural tradition has evolved over time into a commercial product, contributing to the well-being of the local community and bringing the name of Larciano first across Italy and then around the world.
Tradition, Memory and New Generations
The main goal of the workshop is to raise awareness among students about the traditions and history of their local area, encouraging them to rediscover history through art.
The core of the project is an experiential learning approach that combines history, creativity and direct observation.
The Workshop: From Factory to Storytelling
The project unfolds in several stages.
The first phase, which has just taken place, involved lessons delivered by FASS to first-year middle school students, giving them the opportunity to observe our products up close and understand what lies behind our production process.
The second phase will focus on the creative and narrative aspect of the workshop. After exploring the origins, use and evolution of the broom, students will begin working with materials provided by FASS, with the aim of creating a mascot capable of telling the story of this symbolic object.
Towards Estrobilia 2026
The project will culminate in an exhibition during the Estrobilia 2026 fair, hosted in the “Blue Room” of Casa Studio CVM VENIO Gallery, located in Piazza Quattro Martiri 43, Larciano (PT).
The exhibition will tell the story of the broom through archival research and the collection of family memories, including photographs, written accounts and videos. Within this framework, the works created by the students will also be displayed, as a presentation of the activities carried out throughout the school year.
A project that brings together school, business and culture, placing younger generations at its center and providing them with the tools to reinterpret, with fresh eyes, the history and symbols of a community that continues to evolve without losing its identity.
